The Arts Society Pewsey Vale has a proud history of providing people of all ages with exciting opportunities to get involved in creative arts activities.
Cotswold House Project October 2021- June 2022
At the end of June, our society was proud to complete a project to deliver art sessions for patients at The Cotswold House unit, based at Savernake Hospital. Cotswold House provides specialist in-patient care for 12 Young Adults with Eating Disorders.
The project was funded by a £1,300 grant from The Arts Society.
Thirty-six one-hour sessions were held over the course of the year. The project plan was to hold in an engaging way, an informal, friendly, arts workshop, run by an experienced tutor. This
to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn about art techniques.
In general, one or two patients took part in each session. Two of the patients were
encouraged to exhibit artwork they had done outside the workshops.
A local Gallery was holding its annual community exhibition and
they were very pleased to have their work accepted.
It was a privilege to be accepted on to the ward to share art with these
young patients at a difficult time in their lives.

'Art in the Station'
Promoting art in our schools
A recent Young Arts innovative project displayed local school children's art in public waiting areas - initially in Pewsey Station Waiting Room.
Feedback was wonderful and the waiting rooms at Pewsey Station looked more
colourful and interesting.
The artwork came from children at local Pewsey Vale schools
